MANILA, Philippines — A third senatorial aspirant will lodge the withdrawal of their certificate of candidacy on Monday afternoon, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said on Monday.
Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said the aspirant would arrive at Palacio del Gobernador at 12:30 p.m.
“A senatorial candidate will withdraw their candidacy,” Garcia told reporters in a Viber message.
Garcia said the votes of this withdrawing senatorial aspirant would be counted as stray.
The aspirant will follow suit with former Ilocos Sur Governor Chavit Singson and internet personality Norman Mangusin, better known as Francis Leo Marcos.
