MANILA, Philippines — The Makabayan party senatorial candidates will focus on ground campaigning to gather votes for this year’s polls, according to Gabriela party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas.

Brosas said they will focus on this strategy, admitting that Makabayan’s funds could not cover billions worth of advertisement.

“Yung ground campaigning yun talaga ang mahalaga sa amin kasi sabi nga natin wala tayong bilyon advertisements anlalaki nung mga billboards ng iba magkano ’yung ginastos dyan hindi po ’yon kaya ng Makabayan,” the lawmaker said in an ambush interview.
