Makabayan Senate slate conducts campaign activities in HK

MANILA, Philippines — The Makabayan Coalition’s candidates conducted campaign activities in Hong Kong on Sunday, seeking support from overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) worldwide.
Among those in Hong Kong were former Bayan Muna Rep. Neri Colmenares, lawyer Maria Kristina Conti as well as Makabayan senatorial slate members former Bayan Muna Rep. and Bagong Alyansang Makabayan Chairperson Teddy Casiño, former Gabriela party-list Rep. Liza Maza, and Gabriela party-list Rep. Arlene Brosas.
Makabayan and Bayan Muna candidates started their house-to-house visits and other activities at the start of the campaign period on February 11.
Earlier, Brosas said they would focus on the ground campaigning to gather votes for this year’s polls, admitting that Makabayan’s funds could not cover the billions worth of advertisement.
