BARMM parliamentary polls postponed – Comelec chief

MANILA, Philippines — The conduct of the first Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) parliamentary elections has been postponed, Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman George Erwin Garcia announced on Friday.
During the signing of a memorandum of agreement with malls and telecommunication industries, Garcia said that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has signed the bill seeking to postpone the parliamentary elections.
However, the Palace is yet to issue a confirmation.

The bill rescheduling the parliamentary elections from May 12, 2025, to October 13, 2025, was recently ratified and approved in the bicameral conference committee report by the Senate.
