Senatorial candidate Camille Villar has pushed anew for the need to support livelihood and further develop infrastructure during the campaign sortie of the administration’s Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas in Central Luzon, which kicked off in the vote-rich San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.

Joining the administration senators’ press conference and political rally in San Jose del Monte, Villar said she has always been supportive of measures that would create more jobs through the development of infrastructure. She also batted for the promotion of small businesses.

“Actually, one of the things I’ve always advocated for—whether in the private sector or in Congress, and something I hope to continue—is supporting economic growth. And I think San Jose del Monte is a great example of a city built on strong support for livelihood and small businesses,” she said in a mix of English and Filipino.

“We can see with the MRT-7 that when we improve interconnectivity and bring infrastructure to a town, it leads to increased productivity and more job opportunities. Hopefully, this will also pave the way for affordable housing and better homes for our fellow citizens here in San Jose del Monte,” she said in Filipino.

“This is a great example of city development driven by economic growth. What we want here is to better prepare the people of San Jose del Monte for more jobs, better jobs, improved infrastructure, and a strong housing program,” she added.

The MRT-7 line runs in a northeast–southwest direction, beginning at San Jose del Monte, Bulacan up to the North Triangle Common Station in North Avenue, Quezon City.

Prior to the Alyansa press conference, Villar went around North Caloocan on Friday where she mingled with vendors in Bagong Silang Phase 1 Market and Camarin Market.
