AFP finishes 6th mission to resupply BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal

MANILA, Philippines — The Philippines completed another rotation and reprovisioning (RORE) mission to the BRP Sierra Madre in Ayungin Shoal on Tuesday, according to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).
AFP public affairs office chief Col. Xerxes Trinidad said the March 4 RORE mission marks the sixth consecutive troop mission in the region “without any untoward incident.”
The five other RORE missions were conducted on January 24 this year; December 12, 2024; November 15, 2024; September 27, 2024; and July 27, 2024, based on a statement Trinidad released on Wednesday.

“This RORE was executed in close coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard and was completed with no untoward incident,” the AFP said in a separate statement.
“The completion of this mission reaffirms the AFP’s commitment not only to supporting our defenders in the WPS but, more importantly, to upholding the Philippines’ sovereignty and sovereign rights—not only for today’s generation but for those to come,” it added.
