The senator, on the other hand, is seeking to replace her daughter in the House of Representatives.
If Camille wins, she will be joining her brother, Mark Villar, in the Senate.

The matriarch sees nothing wrong with a political dynasty working hard and serving the people well.
“If they want that career, you have to give them the chance,” she said at the weekly Kapihan sa Manila Bay on Wednesday, referring to her two children.
“I truly believe that I raised them well. They can do their job well. What’s wrong with somebody doing their job well? ” she added.
Cynthia Villar was asked in the forum about Camille’s senatorial run and the issue of the political dynasty being raised against her family.
“I think my daughter will be able to do a good job there. Just give her a chance,” the matriarch continued.
In particular, the senator believes Camille can help in the agriculture sector, particularly in encouraging the young farmers to have a fully mechanized farm.
The matriarch is currently heading the Senate committee on agriculture, food and agrarian reform.
Talking further about political dynasty, she said it is better to have a good dynasty that is honest and working hard than a politician who has no dynasty but is not serving the people.
