Miriam’s party backs Marcoleta for senator
MANILA, Philippines — The party founded by the late former Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago has endorsed the senatorial bid of Sagip Rep. Rodante Marcoleta.
The People’s Reform Party, now chaired by the late senator’s widower Narciso Santiago Jr., cited Marcoleta’s “dedication to public service.”

“Congressman Marcoleta’s unwavering commitment to the Filipino people and his proven leadership make him an invaluable addition to our Senate slate,” Santiago said in a statement.
Marcoleta is also one of the senatorial bets being endorsed by former President Rodrigo Duterte. —Dempsey Reyes
