POLILIO, Quezon, Philippines — Senatorial candidate Camille Villar highlighted the vital role of cooperatives in fostering economic progress and uplifting Filipino communities during a visit to Polilio, Quezon over the weekend.
Speaking before members of the RHUDARDA Multi-Purpose Cooperative during their general assembly, Villar — one of the youngest candidates vying for a Senate seat — pledged her continued support for legislation focused on job creation, livelihood development, and affordable housing.
“Even before, I was already pushing for laws that will promote sources of livelihood, create jobs, and help Filipinos achieve their dream of having a house,” Villar said in Filipino.
“I will continue with that,” she added.

Villar emphasized that she was aiming to bring a fresh yet committed voice to the Senate, building on the legacy of public service started by her parents, former Senate President Manny Villar and incumbent Sen. Cynthia Villar.
“I will become your voice in the Senate so that, with you, we can all respond to the needs of each Filipino family,” she added.
In her remarks, Villar praised the impact of cooperatives like RHUDARDA in driving inclusive growth at the grassroots level. She noted their significant contributions to economic empowerment and community development.

“You’ve made a big contribution to economic empowerment and community development. Your effect on the lives of our countrymen can’t be underestimated. You are true partners in progress,” Villar said.
The RHUDARDA Multi-Purpose Cooperative, headed by its president, Emely Azul, was recently honored as the Most Outstanding Community Enterprise in the 2024 Villar SIPAG Awards — an annual initiative recognizing exemplary community-based organizations.
Villar also extended her gratitude to Mayor Angelique Bosque and other local officials for the warm welcome and support she received during her visit to the province.
