MANILA, Philippines — Closely working with local government units provides better and wider services for townspeople, 1Pacman first nominee Milka Romero emphasized during the party-list group’s full-packed sortie jointly held recently with local leaders and candidates in Santa Cruz, Laguna.

Mayor Cindy Carolino opened the high-energy evening assembly held at the ARGEM Coliseum grounds with thousands of representatives from multiple sectors eager to hear messages from gobernatorial aspirant Santa Rosa Rep. Dan Fernandez; Gem Amante, candidate for vice governor; 4th district of Laguna congressional candidate Atty. Tony Carolino, and Romero, who has closely coordinated Laguna outreach and sporting events on behalf of 1Pacman.

The attendees at the gathering gave resounding applause when Romero noted that local projects on infrastructure, health, education as well as other social services can be strengthened while 1Pacman works on legislation that provides additional funding through the national budget.

“It will be a big help to target funding for special projects for the development of the province and its towns — for their health, education, and also special infrastructure,” Romero said in Filipino.

She explained that a party list like 1Pacman has the advantage of flexibility in addressing the immediate needs of Laguna towns because it could align with the needs of marginalized sectors.

Romero is an accomplished daughter of 1Pacman Party List Rep. Mikee Romero, who ends his nine-year or three-term tenure as congressman this June. She is a business, sports, and socio-civic leader who has served as chairman of the party list, handling its special programs.

Romero explained that she would not have to look far to find an example of achievements in uplifting the lives of the marginalized. During his third term in Congress, her father served as chairman of the House committee on poverty alleviation and was responsible for securing P7 billion in additional funds in 2025 for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino program.
