Marlon Villa, a candidate for vice mayor of President Quirino under PFP, said Tamayo was his municipal coordinator and was helping in his campaign.

Villa said unidentified gunmen abducted Tamayo from his residence at about 6 p.m. on Monday and forced him into a white van then sped away.

Tamayo’s daughter told reporters that the gunmen arrived at their home and dragged her father toward a waiting white van.

“We were traumatized, we were helpless since they carry firearms,” the daughter, asking that her identity be kept in wraps, said.
