MANILA, Philippines – 1Pacman Party-list first nominee Milka Romero says steadfast focus on fisheries and agriculture remains essential to uplift lives of Filipinos.
This, as she sends heartfelt greetings to keepers of faith in this period of hope and renewal.
The 1Pacman Party-list wages a nationwide call for the mindsets for growth through empowerment of the youth and sport excellence.
Dubbed “Champion sa Sports, Champion sa Buhay”, the 1Pacman campaign stresses the total approach to ensure that citizens, especially the youth, receive proper nourishment, healthcare, education, and access to jobs.
“With a healthy citizenry, we can move onward to nurture talents in sports and target sports excellence,” said Romero.
One of every three children suffer from malnutrition, and an increasing percentage of them have stunted growth.
These statistics only point to a more aggressive intervention through well-coordinated feeding programs that are held in partnership with local government units.
Speaking before youth communities and fisherfolk in Tagbilaran City and Panglao, Romero said the concerns of fishermen are priorities.
The concerns for agriculture to increase the yield for farmers are also important.
“To build stronger communities, we have to prioritize these that would all together favor children’s health, nutrition, and youth development,” she added.

Romero has been given by her father Rep.Mikee Romero the reins of 1Pacman leadership with the conclusion of his third term in Congress this June.
Over these years, 1Pacman embarked on continuous feeding programs, provided some 30,000 scholarships for TESDA students and schools, and another set of 30,000 for medical assistance.
These are over and above the 151 laws authored and co-sponsored by 1Pacman over three terms. Noteworthy of these are the laws enabling the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program or 4Ps, free tuition in state universities and colleges, and the trailblazing Eddie Garcia Law.
