MANILA, Philippines — Pope Francis was born Jorge Mario Bergoglio in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Dec. 17, 1936, and died of a stroke at his official home at the Domus Sanctae Marthae in the Vatican. He was 88.

He will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 10 am local time (4 pm in the Philippines) at St. Peter’s Square.

Some 200,000 visitors are expected to attend — among them world leaders, including US President Donald Trump, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, Philippine President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., and Prince William of the United Kingdom.

After the funeral, his coffin will be taken to Santa Maria Maggiore for burial.
A conclave, which will elect the new pope, will start between May 5 and May 10.

I really don't know you, my faith is definitely in the shadows. I am just familiar that we have a pope that prays and cares. Today as people mourn for your lost. I am thankful for the prayers that you have prayed. And I hope that whenever you got the chance please take our prayers with you in heaven. Because heavens have earned a very loving pope.
