Camille Villar hails Freemason Principles in Grand Lodge gathering

MANILA, Philippines – Senatorial candidate Camille Villar paid tribute to the enduring principles of the Freemasons during her keynote address at the annual gathering of the Most Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines.
Speaking before a packed hall, Villar emphasized the timeless relevance of the Masonic values of fortitude, prudence, temperance, and justice. She described these virtues as essential building blocks for a strong and just society, qualities she said are vital as the country faces new and complex challenges.

The millennial candidate also shared a deeply personal connection to the fraternity, recalling her grandfather, Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar, as a proud Mason and a passionate public servant. Villar noted that his legacy lives on through the Dr. Filemon C. Aguilar Lodge No. 332 in Las Piñas City, a tribute to his lifelong dedication to community service.

“My grandfather’s example continues to guide and inspire me,” Villar said. “I aspire to embody the same steadfastness, compassion, and commitment to public good that he and many Masons have demonstrated.”
Villar also commended the organization for its longstanding tradition of charity and philanthropy, lauding the integrity and solidarity among its members. She expressed hope that the values upheld by the Masonic brotherhood would continue to serve as a moral compass for future generations of leaders.
The gathering was marked by a warm reception for Villar, who is among the youngest candidates vying for a seat in the Senate in the upcoming national elections.
