PNP reports 10 dead in 35 validated election-related incidents

MANILA, Philippines — Ten fatalities were recorded by the Philippine National Police (PNP) as the number of validated incidents related to the 2025 national and local elections rose to 35.
This was according to data shared by the Philippine National Police Public Information Office (PNP PIO) on Tuesday.
The incidents took place in the following areas:
- 11 in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR)
- Eight in the Bangsamoro Administrative Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM)
- Five in Calabarzon
- Three in Zamboanga Peninsula
- Two in Western Visayas
- Two in Davao Region
- One in Ilocos Region
- One in Central Luzon
- One in Eastern Visayas
- One in Soccsksargen
The PNP did not detail the nature of the incidents.
However, the police did detail that the validated election-related incidents resulted in:
- Four deaths, one injury in CAR
- Two deaths, one injury in Zamboanga Peninsula
- One death in Ilocos Region
- One death in Central Luzon
- One death in Soccsksargen
- One death, six injuries in BARMM
- One injury in Western Visayas
- One injury in Eastern Visayas
- One injury in Davao Region
The PNP data showed that seven incidents were still being validated by authorities.
According to the PNP PIO data, there were two suspected election-related incidents each in Cagayan Valley and Bicol Region; and one each in Soccsksargen, CAR, and the National Capital Region (NCR).
The incidents still being validated involved the following:
- One death in NCR
- One death and one injury in Cagayan Valley
- One injury in Bicol Region
Meanwhile, there were 20 non-election-related incidents.

In a press briefing at Camp Crame on Tuesday, PNP PIO Chief Col. Randulf Tuaño detailed that the police force validates whether reported incidents are election-related within 10 days.
