Palace to declare May 12 a holiday for elections

MANILA, Philippines — Malacañang will declare May 12, Election Day, a holiday.

Palace Press Officer Claire Castro confirmed this during a briefing on Tuesday.

Castro said the official proclamation will be released within the day.
