MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano has expressed support for the senatorial bid of independent candidate and television personality Willie Revillame.
“One of the problems of a public servant nowadays is how to communicate. That’s one of Willie’s expertise, how to communicate,” Cayetano said in Filipino on a livestream on his official social media account on Monday evening.
“The sponsors’ trust in him, he can use that to tackle our national budget. In the end, no matter how good your bill is, will it be funded or not?” Cayetano added, citing Revillame’s more than two decades of experience as a television show host.
Cayetano said he invited Revillame over for dinner at a restaurant in Taguig City.
