NAGA CITY — Former Vice President Leni Robredo has laid out her priority programs if proclaimed mayor of Naga City after she cast her vote at Naga City Science High School on Monday, May 12.
“We will strengthen mechanisms for good governance, particularly in transparency, accountability, and people empowerment to give heart and soul to our programs,” Robredo said.
She added that she would also focus on people’s participation, which she described as the pillar of governance.

“Yes, you can have programs on health, education, and the environment, but if there is no good governance, it’s hard. So for me, it’s all about people’s participation,” she stressed.
She also expressed interest in training young people who have a lot of potential.
“We just need to give them space to participate in government activities,” she said.
Robredo was pleased with the voter turnout and the overall election process.
She acknowledged that some issues occurred with automated counting machines causing delays and inconvenience for voters, but said such problems are inevitable.
“The election here in Naga is orderly and peaceful. I hope it stays that way until the closing of voting hours,” she added. / MR
