Ruffy Biazon wins second term as Muntinlupa mayor

MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Ruffy Biazon, who ran for reelection unopposed, secured his second term as the local chief executive of  Muntinlupa City.

Biazon’s victory was declared at the proclamation of elected officials held at the People’s Center in Putatan, Muntinlupa City.

In a post on Facebook, Biazon thanked voters in the city for entrusting him, once again, with such a high position.

“First of all, I thank the Lord for guiding me in all the decisions I have made in this campaign. Our prayers for a safe, peaceful, and victorious campaign were fulfilled,” Biazon said in Filipino.

“I thank every 1-Munti who did not let go, for all those who moved, stood up, and believed in our advocacy. Because of you, I and most of our team were given another chance to serve our city,” he added.

Prior to ending his brief remarks, Biazon said Muntinlipeños could expect continued good service, committing to spearhead an organized, humane, and successful city.

“Thank you, Muntinlupa. We will take care of this faith you have given us and match it with honest and wholehearted service,” he said.

Biazon first assumed office on June 30, 2022. /das
