Paulino reelected as Olongapo City mayor

OLONGAPO CITY — Mayor Rolen Paulino Jr. was officially proclaimed as the city’s chief executive by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) board of canvassers on Tuesday, May 13.
Paulino, a lawyer and son of former Mayor Rolen Paulino Sr., won his third and final term after securing 28,814 votes in the May 12 midterm elections.
He defeated three challengers: Vice Mayor Jong Cortez, who garnered 18,934 votes; Barangay Chairman Echie Ponge, who received 18,498; and businessman Arnold Vegafria, with 9,588.
Councilor and fellow lawyer Kaye Ann Legaspi, who ran alongside Cortez, was proclaimed the city’s new vice mayor.
