Marcoleta wants early proclamation of winning senators – Comelec

Former Sagip Rep. Rodante Marcoleta is not withdrawing from the senatorial race in the upcoming 2025 polls, according to Commission on Elections (Comelec) chairman George Erwin Garcia.

MANILA, Philippines — Senator-elect Rodante Marcoleta has urged the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to hold an early proclamation for winners in the senatorial race.

Comelec spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco gave the information on Wednesday.

In a regular press conference at the Manila Hotel Tent City, Laudiangco said Marcoleta’s request was referred to the National Board of Canvassers.

On Tuesday, Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said the poll body can proclaim the winning senators, whether partial or in full, as early as Saturday.

Marcoleta ranked sixth in the Magic 12 after getting 14,908,071 votes, according to INQUIRER.net’s tally based on partial and unofficial result transmission from the Comelec as of 11:32 p.m.
