Gov. Sagarbarria, other family members win in Negros Oriental polls
BACOLOD CITY – Four members of the Sagarbarria family in Negros Oriental clinched the positions they were running for in the May 12 elections.
Incumbent Negros Oriental Governor Manuel “Chaco” Sagarbarria was reelected with 365,020 votes.
He defeated former governor Pryde Henry Teves who obtained 254,415 votes.
Chaco’s father, Rep. Manuel “Chikiting” Sagarbarria, who is on his third term as representative of the second district of Negros Oriental, won as mayor of Dumaguete City.
He was mayor of Dumaguete for three terms before becoming a congressman.
He defeated Dio Remollo.
Incumbent Dumaguete Vice Mayor Ma. Isabel “Maisa” Sagarbarria, the wife of the congressman and mother of the governor, won as representative the second district of Negros Oriental.

She defeated Felipe Antonio Remollo who is in his last term as mayor of Dumaguete City.
Her daughter Chessa Sagarbarria won as Dumaguete councilor.
