MANILA, Philippines — Poll watchdog Parish Pastoral Council for Responsible Voting (PPCRV) received the last batch of election return files on Thursday afternoon, according to its executive director, Jude Liao.

Earlier, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) announced that the number of votes already cast in the midterm polls was 81.65 percent, the highest in history. This percentage represents 55,874,700 out of the 68,431,965 registered voters for this year’s polls.

“As I mentioned, we haven’t received the rest of the data yet. We only got it at 2:41 p.m., the timestamped at 2:41 p.m., and then we got it a little after that,” Liao said in a short press conference.

“So we are still processing. Once we get the full data, then we’ll have hopefully the same data as Comelec as well. And then, so that’s it for the transmission,” he added.

According to Liao, PPCRV volunteers will conduct a closing procedure, as they are set to sign off at Data Center 3 (DC3).

“Our volunteers from DC3 will now be signing off. We thank our partners, most especially AMA, who helped us not just here at the Command Center but also DC3,” he said.
