Comelec to proclaim Senate Magic 12 winners on Saturday

MANILA, Philippines — The 12 winning senators will be proclaimed by the Commission on Elections on Saturday afternoon, Comelec chairman George Erwin Garcia said.

Garcia, in a press conference at Manila Hotel Tent City on Friday, said the proclamation would begin at 3 p.m.

The Comelec finished the official tally of the certificate of canvass (COC) for midterm elections on Thursday night. The COC is used to determine the official winners.

The Comelec finished the canvassing of all 175 certificates of canvass only three days after the May 12 elections, which is the fastest canvassing in the poll body’s history. /das/abc
