MANILA, Philippines — As early as Thursday, Oct. 30, Filipinos started gearing up for their annual trek back to their home provinces to pay their respects to their dearly departed this Undas — a local term referring to both All Souls’ Day and All Saints’ Day.
To give travelers an extra day for their trip, Malacañang has declared Friday, Oct. 31, a special nonworking day, making for a three-day weekend.
