MANILA, Philippines — The House of Representatives committee on justice voted on Wednesday to declare the two impeachment complaints filed against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. as insufficient in substance.
In the first complaint, only one, Pusong Pinoy party-list Rep. Jernie Jett Nisay, voted to have it declared sufficient in substance, while 42 voted against the motion. The three Makabayan bloc members abstained from voting.
In the second complaint, only seven voted to have it declared sufficient in substance, while 39 voted against the motion, with zero abstentions.
The House justice panel is chaired by Rep. Gerville Luistro.
