Shock waves spread to Mindanao
SHOCK waves from the turmoil in Manila spread south, with military commanders in the provincial capital of Cagayan de Oro putting their troops on alert.
About 5,500 soldiers under two generals, each supporting a different side in the civil conflict, were prepared in full battle gear in the Misamis Oriental province region, about 500 miles (800 kilometers) from Manila on the southern island of Mindanao.
