In 2006, the Las Piñas regional trial court convicted Salvador of estafa and sentenced him to 20 years in prison in connection with a suit filed by his former girlfriend, businesswoman Cristina Decena.

But a resolution issued by Judge Ma. Concepcion Billones of the Makati Regional Trial Court Branch 62 junked the estafa case filed by Decena, saying the evidence filed by Decena’s camp against Salvador was insufficient.

In 2016, Salvador tried but failed to become the vice governor of Bulacan as he was excluded from the province’s voters’ list days before the local elections.
