Senatorial bet Abby Binay not dwelling on being Alan Peter’s workmate
MANILA, Philippines — Senatorial hopeful Abby Binay does not yet want to dwell on the prospects of working with Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.
Binay was just done filing her certificate of candidacy (COC) on Friday at the Manila Hotel Tent City when she was asked about her thoughts on working with Cayetano.
Such a question became material in light of the dispute of Makati and Taguig — ruled by the clans of Binay and Cayetano, respectively — on jurisdiction of 10 “embo” villages.
“The answer to that question is, we will cross the bridge when we get there,” Binay said when asked about Alan.
Binay, however, said she has no problems working with Pia Cayetano, who is Alan’s sister.

The high court stated that that 10 barangays in Makati’s second district — namely, Pembo, Comembo, Cembo, South Cembo, West Rembo, East Rembo, Pitogo, Rizal, Post Proper Northside and Post Proper Southside, including Bonifacio Global City — “based on historical, documentary and testimonial evidence, indeed fall within the territorial jurisdiction of Taguig.”
Alan Peter had a shouting match with Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri in late September over Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 23, which would include 10 Embo barangays in the two legislative districts of Taguig and Pateros so as not to disenfranchise the registered voters there.
In July, Alan Peter and Abby’s sister Sen. Nancy Binay also had a heated debate over the construction cost of the New Senate Building in Taguig City.
