Mayor Lani Cayetano vows ‘transformative’ Taguig in reelection bid

MANILA, Philippines — Mayor Lani Cayetano filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) on Monday, with the promise of achieving a “transformative, lively, and caring” Taguig City.

She was accompanied by her spouse Senator Alan Peter Cayetano and councilors under the Team TLC.

During a campaign event on Monday morning, Mayor Cayetano expressed her full commitment to serving the people of Taguig alongside Team TLC.

“As your public servant, I have a responsibility to all of you. My daily vow, as granted by the Lord, is to ensure that you see your vote for me and my colleagues is truly worth it,” she said in Filipino.

According to the mayor, she aims for Taguig to continue launching transformative projects that will change the lives of its residents.

She also seeks to encourage more participation from sectors and wants Taguig to show more compassion to its people.

“Lively, as it encourages the participation of every sector. Whether you are a vendor, farmer, fisherman, solo parent, or a person with disabilities, the Cayetano administration sees you. Team TLC sees you and serves you,” she said in Filipino.

“Above all, the caring nature of our city is evident in every aspect. Compassionate. Nurturing. This is the heart of our party, and we started this back in 2010,” she added.

Cayetano also highlighted the city’s accomplishments during her previous terms as mayor from 2010 to 2019 as proof of her dedication to fulfilling her responsibilities.

“In recent months, national agencies have recognized Taguig as the number one most improved city. Taguig also ranked number one in economic dynamism. Just recently, we heard in the news that the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry has once again included Taguig in the top five most outstanding and business-friendly cities in the National Capital Region,” she said in Filipino.

“Look at what we have achieved from 2010 until now, we have become one of the most renowned cities. Not only recognized in the Philippines but also known worldwide. This is Taguig! We are Taguig!” she added.
