BARMM chief slams corruption claims vs. Lagdameo
MANILA, Philippines — Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim on Tuesday denounced allegations of corruption against Special Assistant to the President Antonio Lagdameo Jr.
According to reports, several political figures in the region alleged that Lagdameo misappropriated billions of pesos intended for the development of BARMM.
Ebrahim said these false claims “besmirch” Lagdameo’s reputation as well as the Bangsamoro government.
“These libelous claims are entirely fabricated and are filled with ill intent. The Bangsamoro government is studying its legal remedies against those who continue to malign its officers without evidence,” Ebrahim’s statement read.
He also urged the public to “veer away from personal attacks and false accusations” and to be careful of “malicious statements driven by selfish interest” as the 2025 elections draw near.

“Let us all work together for a peaceful, honest, and credible first parliamentary elections in the BARMM. Let us continue to serve the Bangsamoro with pure hearts and sincere intentions,” Ebrahim said.
