Comelec receives bulk of automated counting machines for 2025 polls
MANILA, Philippines — The Commission on Elections has received over 90 percent of the automated counting machines (ACMs) from South Korea to be used in the 2025 midterm elections, Comelec Chairman George Erwin Garcia said on Friday.
Garcia told reporters in a Viber message that the Comelec warehouse in Biñan, Laguna, received additional ACMs on Friday morning.
The new deliveries brought the total number of delivered ACMs to 100,920 or 91.23 percent of the 110,620 machines to be used for the upcoming elections.
Garcia said the remaining 10,000 ACMs will arrive in the country next week.
Comelec Spokesperson John Rex Laudiangco previously said the projected completion of the ACM delivery is ahead of the December timeline.
