MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Thursday admitted that if he were running for senator in the 2025 midterm elections, he would find his endorsed senatorial slate intimidating.
Marcos made the pronouncement during the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas campaign rally in Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental.
“When we look at the other candidates, I think to myself—if I were a candidate for the Senate—I might reconsider running after seeing this group,” he said in Filipino.
“Because they have become highly skilled, have extensive experience in public service, and have demonstrated excellent performance and contributions to the nation,” he added.
Thursday’s rally marks Alyansa’s fifth proclamation rally as it courts Ilonggo votes.
