MANILA, Philippines — Senatorial candidate Willie Revillame agrees with his critics that he knows nothing, but stresses it’s more in line with “know(ing) nothing about” oppressing and deceiving people as well as stealing from them.
“As they said, I know nothing. They are right. I know nothing about oppressing other people. I know nothing about deceiving fellow Filipinos. I know nothing about stealing. All I know is how to do good for those in need among our fellow countrymen,” Revillame said in Filipino at a news conference in Pasig City on Friday.
“For me, you know that many have invited me to run for a senatorial [post]. In my view, you should be ready for everything. You cannot go into something without knowing about it,” Revillame, a television show host, added.

“Many presidents, mayors, and congressmen have come and gone. I’ve been listening to the poor for 27 years. I know what they feel and I came from that life,” he said.
Revillame recently ranked fourth to 11th with 48 percent on an Octa Research survey.
