LEGAZPI CITY, Albay, Philippines – Victor Perete was proclaimed winner of the mayoral race in Daraga town in Albay early Tuesday, May 13.

Based on the 9 a.m. partial results from the Commission on Elections, Perete received 36,339 votes while his rival, Lhal Baldo, wife of detained Mayor Carlwyn, got 34,001 votes.

In 2019, Perete also beat Carlwyn and Gertrudes Batocabe, widow of slain Ako Bicol Rep. Rodel Batocabe.

In 2022, Perete lost his bid for a second term.

For vice mayor, Love Ruiz was also proclaimed winner with 34,503 votes, against Jungie Jaucian’s 33,455 votes.
