Over 6 tons of garbage collected on election day — MMDA

A total of 6.10 tons of garbage were collected in the National Capital Region (NCR) during Election Day, said the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

MANILA, Philippines — A total of 6.10 tons of garbage were collected in the National Capital Region (NCR) during Election Day, said the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

According to the MMDA, the figure is based on the summary of collected garbage on May 12 by the agency’s Metro Parkway Clearing Group.

In total, 288 pieces of garbage bags were collected in the entire Metro Manila during Election Day.

The city with the most garbage gathered was in Malabon where 70 pieces of garbage, totaling 1.48 tons, were collected.

Meanwhile, no garbage was recorded to have been collected in three cities, particularly, Las Piñas, Makati and Marikina. /jpv
